Prime Minister Modi has inaugurated the Kartavya Bhawan on Kartavya Path in New Delhi today. After this, he will also address a public program at 6:30 pm. Let us tell you, every ministry and department of the central government scattered in different buildings of Delhi will soon be shown in the Kartavya Bhawans being built on both sides of Kartavya Path.

If we talk about today’s traffic, then on this special occasion, Delhi Police has implemented special traffic rules on many important roads from 5 pm to 9 pm, especially in Kartavya Path and C-Hexagon area. Let’s know what is the traffic guideline.

Which roads will be closed?

The police have asked people to avoid the areas around Janpath, Maulana Azad Road, Man Singh Road, Rajendra Prasad Road and Jaswant Singh Road. No vehicle will be allowed to park on these roads, and if anyone violates the parking rules, the vehicle will be towed away and a challan will also be issued. The towed vehicles will be kept in the traffic pit near Bhairon Mandir (Bhairon Marg).

Traffic has been diverted around Motilal Nehru Bhawan, Man Singh Road, Jaswant Singh Road and Windsor Road. If you are going from here, leave early and keep in mind the diverted route.

Advice for travellers
  • Do not go towards India Gate from Pragati Maidan Tunnel.
  • Use public transport as much as possible.
  • Those going to the railway station, bus stand (ISBT) or the airport have been asked to plan in advance and leave early so that they can reach on time.
  • The police have appealed to the people to maintain peace, follow traffic rules, and cooperate with the traffic staff

Kartavya Bhawan is an important part of the Central Vista project which was started in 2019. This building will become the new home for the offices of important departments like Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Petroleum and Chief Scientific Advisor to the Prime Minister. This project is part of Prime Minister Modi’s vision, through which he wants to create a new and modern identity in place of old British era buildings.
