Jagannath Rath Yatra has started in Puri, Odisha. This is an important festival of Hinduism, which is held every year on the second day of Ashadh Shukla Paksha. Even though this Yatra takes place in Puri, it is celebrated. Actually, it is believed that after falling ill, Lord Jagannath goes to his aunt’s house with his brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra, from where he goes back to his temple after getting cured.

Situated 12 km from Puri, this village is famous for its Pattachitra paintings and traditional crafts. Every house here has an artist’s workshop and this village reflects the rich cultural heritage of Odisha.
Konark Sun Temple
Konark Sun Temple is a very beautiful temple included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is located about 35 km from Puri. This 13th century temple is a wonderful example of Kalinga architecture. It is shaped like a huge chariot dedicated to the Sun God.
