Traveling by bus is considered to be the easiest, just buy a ticket and set out on your journey. But sometimes the bus journey also becomes troublesome, because when you board the bus, the seats are full and the person takes the help of something else to reach his destination. But now you will not need to do this because just like the train, here also you will have to do advance booking in the bus.
Maharashtra State Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has announced a special discount to the passengers from July 1. If you book a ticket without paying the full fare and your journey is more than 150 km, then you will get a discount of 15%, but you will get this benefit only when you book the ticket in advance. Why has this scheme been brought?
This announcement was made by Maharashtra Transport Minister and MSRTC Chairman Pratap Sarnaik on the occasion of MSRTC’s 77th foundation day on June 1. Its purpose is to encourage more and more people to book tickets in advance.
On which buses will the discount be available?
This discount will be available on all types of MSRTC buses. Not only this, this discount will be applicable throughout the year, but will not be available during Diwali and summer holidays.
Who are eligible for this exemption?
Passengers who have booked full fare tickets in advance and have travelled more than 150 kms. Students, senior citizens or those who are entitled to any kind of concession will not get this discount.
When will the discount be available?
This discount has started from July 1. This offer will be available throughout the year, except for festivals and summer holidays.

Passengers of MSRTC’s premium E-Shivneri buses plying between Mumbai and Pune can avail the full benefit of this scheme if they book their tickets in advance.
