Shillong
Shillong is the capital of Meghalaya. It is located in the hills of the Eastern Himalayas. Shillong was also called the “Scotland of the East”. It is surrounded by trees on all sides. Air shaft
The nearest airport to Meghalaya is in Guwahati (Assam). The distance from Guwahati to Shillong (capital of Meghalaya) is about 100 kilometers. Taxis or buses are easily available from Guwahati to Shillong.
Railroad Track
There is no railway station in Meghalaya at present . The nearest railway station is Guwahati Railway Station.
Road
Buses, taxis and sharing cabs are available daily from Guwahati to Shillong. The journey can take around 3 to 4 hours.
