Preparations have started for the devotees coming for the Amarnath pilgrimage. Tent cities are being set up at the Yatra base camp Baltal and Nunwan in Pahalgam. 10,000 tents will be installed at both the places. More than 20 thousand devotees will be able to stay in each tent city at a time.
The rent in the tent city is as per convenience. The fare has been fixed according to the arrangements for sleeping on the bed and the ground. There is no prior booking required for the tent. Tents will be available for rent on the spot. In some tents there is arrangement to accommodate four and in others six and 10 devotees. However, the service of langar is completely free.

What facilities will the devotees get?
Along with tents, electricity, water to toilets, medical and communication services, food in langars, hot water and other facilities will also be available. The district administration has fixed the rates for the services like horse, palanquin, pittu and tents etc. till the holy cave.
