Jog Falls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in India and one of the top Karnataka tourism places. It falls from a height of 253 meters (830 ft) over the Sharavati River. The Sharavati river flows over a huge rock 250 yards wide, 253 meters deep, and the water comes down in four different streams, called Raja, Rani, Rover and Rocket. At one place, all the four streams meet at one place, and fall down in the form of a big waterfall.

Dabbe Falls

Dabbe Falls is one of the most beautiful tourist places in Shimoga. Being a part of the Sharavati valley of the lush Western Ghats, the waterfall is surrounded by a landscape of pristine beauty. Coming here, you can spend quality time sitting peacefully for some time.

Gudavi Bird Sanctuary

The beauty of the Gudavi Bird Sanctuary is such that once you go here, you are not satisfied. It is surrounded by rural areas in the west and north of the sanctuary and dense forests in the east and south. The Gudavi Bird Sanctuary is spread over an area of ​​0.73 square kilometers where many types of birds can be seen. About 191 species of winged birds are found here. These include white pebis, stone bill, egret, cormorant, snake fowl, heron and many more birds. 

Sakrebailu

Located about 14 km from Shimoga, Sakarebailu Elephant Camp Thirthahalli is situated. Where you can see many elephants at once. Elephants are accompanied by experienced trainers, who stay with elephants most of the time. The fun of watching these elephants playing in the Tunga River backwaters is different. You can come here only from 8:30 am to 11 am. If you want to bathe elephants by yourself, then permission has to be taken from the fire.
