The temple was built in 1835 –

Let us tell you, the flame is emanating from the earth from nine different places, on which the temple has been built. These nine lights are known as Annapurna, Chandi, Hinglaj, Vindhyavasani, Mahalakshmi, Saraswati, Ambika, Anjidevi, Mahakali. This temple was first constructed by Raja Bhumi Chand. Later Maharaja Ranjit Singh and Raja Sansar Chand completed the construction of this temple in 1835.

The credit for finding the temple goes to the Pandavas –

Neither Emperor Akbar could know the secret of the naturally occurring flames in this temple, nor could the British get any information about it. The temple of Jwala Devi is located at a distance of 30 km from the city of Kangra in Himachal Pradesh. It is believed that the temple was discovered by the Pandavas.

The British came to use the flame –

After independence, scientists tried a lot to know the secret of the flames burning in the temple, but in the end they were disappointed. It is believed that the British wanted to use the flame emanating from the ground floor.

Akbar had made many efforts to extinguish the flame –

History is also a witness to the fact that the Mughal emperor Akbar had failed to extinguish it even after lakhs of efforts. Akbar had many doubts after seeing the burning flames in the temple. He made several attempts to extinguish the flame, such as ordering water to be poured over the flames, turning the canal towards the flame. But all these attempts were unsuccessful. After seeing this miracle of the goddess, he bowed down and being happy he had offered a golden umbrella there. However, the Mother Goddess did not accept his offering and the gold umbrella fell and turned into some other metal. No one has been able to know what this metal is till today.
